Business Development Manager

Job Overview: Our client, headquartered in metro Vancouver, Canada, is a pioneer in the rapidly growing renewable natural gas (RNG) industry. As a leading global provider of biogas compression solutions, we are helping to clean up two of the largest and most difficult-to-decarbonize sectors of the global energy system: the natural gas grid and the commercial transportation sector. Our main competence and technology is gas treatment and compression.

We are seeking an experienced Energy Sales Manager who will be responsible for business development, customer management, and creating, developing, and closing sales opportunities in line with company targets in terms of revenues, profit, collection, market position, etc. The focus will be on RNG solutions but may also include Hydrogen, bulk transportation, and other CNG-related opportunities.

Location: East Coast

Pay Rate: $62.00 per hour

Shift(s): Day Shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Understand market drivers and articulate them to other team members, namely Product Management.
  • Professionally represent the client with customers, prospective customers, and industry partners focusing on RNG products.
  • Maintain relations with existing customers and have a key account strategy in place to support them with prompt response and assistance.
  • Seek out existing power-producing landfill and anaerobic digester projects for conversion to biogas upgrading and Hydrogen opportunities.
  • Develop multi-level communication interconnection points and relationships between clients, customers, and prospective customers.
  • Propose new markets to focus product sales on CNG, RNG, and Hydrogen.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans to pursue market penetration and/or growth.
  • Conduct continuous analysis on competitors’ pricing and strategies.
  • Use CRM effectively to log activities with prospects, prepare and maintain sales plans, and drive opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly reporting of sales activities and opportunities.
  • Support marketing campaigns, attend industry trade shows and conferences, and seek out speaking opportunities to promote the company brand and products.
  • Gather and process feedback from clients and channel partners.
  • Create and update CRM reflecting the reality of the evolution for leads and opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts.
  • Execute corporate marketing plans.
  • Manage budgetary and commercial sales proposals, and when applicable, manage tender processes.
  • Review project specifications to determine project scope and equipment compliance.
  • Generate budgetary proposals, process designs, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangements (GAs), and final bid proposals.
  • Responsible for the collection of accounts receivable in conjunction with A/R staff to ensure rapid and effective collection.
  • Complete all applicable quality records.
  • Perform work in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
  • Assist project managers in the preparation of project change orders.

Experience/Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate related engineering discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in sales.
  • Demonstrated involvement in design and product development.

Language:

  • English proficiency.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Certificates/Licenses/Permits:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Passport for travel.

Other:

  • Extensive travel required within sales territory and company plants.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
